School Holiday activities at Half Term – Thursday the 16 Feb we all enjoyed an outing to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. There are over 60 Sculptures there all across the landscape and we walked for miles.
We did not get to spend a lot of time on one of the five indoor gallaries but we all had a fantastic time. The weather was cold but dry and we all wrapped up warm. A full report and pictures to come.

We are also having week long activities in relation to Valentines day, We will be making cards, using materials and discovering new ideas for this educational week.

We have just finished a Safeguardling refresher update course, run by Leeds City Council, Early Years Foundation Stage & Supported by Leeds Safeguarding Children Board.

The course content was as follows :- Childminders and staff in childcare settings have an awareness of their responsibility to keep their safeguarding children knowledge up to date and how lessons learnt from serious case review can impact upon their role.

Any child, of any age, from any background, can be a victim of abuse. it is Buttercup Lane Childminders responsibilty to let the relevent professionals know and get help for any child suffering any fom of abuse as quickly as possible.

Buttercup Lane Childminders wish everyone a Happy New Year.
We have lots of days out planned already at your favourite childminders in East Ardsley, The days out will include some places that we have never been to before so you all can discover lots of new adventures and exciting things to do and places to see.
We are also planning some family days out were we can all come together for picnics and enjoy ourselves.

We have had some festive activities on the agenda throughout December, they will be finished with our annual Christmas visit to Sundown. Please see the link for details on the whole Sundown experience, great fun especially at Christmas. Other activities include , Yule log making, Decoration Making, Christmas card making, paper chains, wrapping gifts, decorating the tree and of course making the christmas lists.

We have a fantastic new educational pen at Buttercup Lane Childminders, Ask Lia to show you it. The pen is like no other it reads pictures and asks you to group items together using flashcards.
Its amazing and helps with Maths and English. We played with the pen for hours and we cant put it down.

Well what can we say about Legoland, It huge and there is fun to be had in every inch of this wonderful place. We had two full days of total enjoyment even though it was very hard work. There is so much to see in such a short space of time. We did not even cover half of it but though the special offer we got made it very worth the while, we enjoyed it so much so that we are already planning next years visit to see the other half.

There will be a full detailed report and all the pictures from the trip. But the trip included lots of Physical Development, Knowledge & Understanding of the World, Personal Social & Emotional Development, Communication Language & Literacy , Problem Solving Reasoning & numeracy & well as Creatice Development all key areas of learning at Buttercup Lane Childminders in East Ardsley.

We at Buttercup Lane Childminders are going to LEGO LAND. We will post details with photographs on our website on our return. We are targeting the following six areas of learning and development PSED, CLL, PSRN, KUW, PD, CD

We have been extremely busy in the last two weeks. We have been to a few educational local places of interest. These include Tropical World – Roundhay, Oakwell Hall – Batley, Temple Newsam Park – Halton, Pontrfract Park – Pontefract & Swimming to keep us all fit. A good time was had by all and photogtaphs of our days out will be uploaded soon.
