Author: We have been to see Mr Copley again, this has got to be one of the best attractions in Yorkshire and its right on our doorstep. If you have a few hours to spare and your kids are bored you need to go and visit Mr Copley. We had loads of fun with the pumpkins and corn shotting, the farm shop is excellent and you will be amazed with the selection of goods on offer. Here at Buttercup Lane we are enjoying the new term and we welcome a new arrival. Sophie we welcome you and we are thrilled that Karls spelling will get better as you test him weekly with your spelling test.
Its the first day back at school and we are bursting with excitement, we have a house full of really excited children who cant wait to get going !!!

Since the beginning of June here at Buttercup Lane Childminders we have been getting excited over this years Olympic Games and then there has been Euro 2012. We have had early morning fun in the sun with the football in the garden practicing our footballing skills and dare we say that some of the skills shown were better than some of the England skills on show over the last few weeks. We have also been following the Olympic Torch Travels and especially today as it came into Morley. We have a number of fun and educational yet physical activities planned for whilst the olympics are on for all our children. Not forgetting Wimbledon, so we are dusting off the tennis rackets, its going to be one full packed summer and we intend to enjoy every minute of it.
We attended a training course yesterday that was Early Years Fun Stuff linked directly to revised EYFS. We have lots of fresh and exciting ideas for fun activities that all fall into the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. We are going to introduce some of the activities into June’s activity plan and we will see how successful there are. Ask us about the new Birthday Boxes a great idea for all the children to get involved in birthday celebrations, Mini-me pegs, Book of the week & 3 item story time.
This year is moving fast and there is no time to be sitting around, never a dull moment at Buttercup Lane Childminders, we have planned every week for the next 6 months and this includes lots of new places of interest to visit.
